Selma Merbaum Contest
“Look, the world is so colorful!”
(in the framework of the project “Heritage Heroes”)
The contest aims at encouraging youth to preserve historical memory, demonstrate
individuality and creativity, develop talents and artistic expression, study the history and
draw conclusions from the past for the future. The contest is dedicated to Selma Merbaum
– a talented Jewish girl from Chernivtsi, who could not live the usual life, nor could she
develop her talent to the fullest because of the Holocaust.
The contest will be held in 2 age categories: Category A (14 – 17 years old) and Category
B (18 – 21 years old).
Contest winners will receive certificates and gifts, as well as the opportunity to participate
in the International Youth Congress.
Important! While we value modern technologies and appreciate the way they make our
lives easier, we value the persistence, originality and individual hard work even more;
therefore, contest materials created by AI will not be considered.
An international youth contest , about selma, her life, her creativity and her heritage will follow soon...
